Have you ever wondered what life would be like as a king?

How did they act? Who got them up in the morning, what did they do while eating? What did they hear at mass? How did they fall asleep?

We know that music was integral to almost all of the kings daily activities including ‘the waking up ceremony’, ‘letter signing’, ‘hunting’ and even the ‘bedtime ceremony’.

‘A tale of two kings’ showcases a musical day in the life of the two great monarchs Louis XIII and Louis XIV in all their glory (and not so glorious) splendour. Performed on period instruments by Trillo.
